You have been a trusty companion in and witness to my grief, and I most appreciate the nod to a well timed fart joke. Aunt Luci would have agreed 🥹.

Always, Beth. I can just see her face now. The “oh you” smirk and then the laugh.😇

Grief, a word encompassing many emotions & those actions accompanying them. Everyone processes their grief differently; some people will put it right out there for all to see & let everyone know they’re in pain, while others hold it in until they’re ready for their wall to crumble. I, too, feel privileged when someone confides they are grieving, whether family, friend or Patient in the PT world. When we are invited to experience their grief we are being trusted with their pain and suffering while building a bond that only we are sharing in that moment.

I couldn’t agree more with you re our loved ones that have passed. The memories triggered by a song or picture are of happiness & not anger or sadness. Those are the memories I will always cherish & hold tight, not the times of tears or frustration.

That’s so true, Krissy. We all grieve so differently, and at the same time are so similar in our humanity when we share in the pain of loss. It really is a privilege 💕

Years ago, when i worked in the ED, i witnessed Grief brought on by trauma and illness in so many people. My body, spirit and soul had trouble empathizing because, well Emergency Department!
Years later after having personal grief experience, i realized The PTSD i had From burying all others trauma!
Today i can Laugh and cry with people going through grief, and realize how healing it is for all parties involved.
Covering up trauma doesn’t make it go away!
It just makes it leak out into your body in not so good ways!
